Outrageously delicious smoothie alert!
I can’t believe I’m saying this but early mornings are fast becoming my favourite time of day. There is something about the sun, sky and air when you live by the sea that makes you want to jump out of bed and greet the day with a huge smile.
This morning I felt really energetic so I took to my mat for a 20 minute core strengthening sequence then practiced forearm headstands. Rather than jumping my legs straight up into headstand like I usually do, today I was working on piking my legs up slowly which takes a lot more control and A LOT of core strength, this is definitely work in progress.
After yoga I walked down to the beach with Ed to check out the surf conditions (for him, not me) and watched the 20+ surfers living their dream out in the ocean. There is nothing more mesmerising than watching someone completely in tune with their bodies, board and mother nature. The waves looked big and powerful today but the surfers move with so much grace.
After all of that it was definitely breakfast time and on todays’ menu was a variation on Deliciously Ellas Banana, date and almond smoothie.
This smoothie has the perfect level of sweetness, is nice and filling and is packed full of nutritional benefits even though it tastes so deliciously creamy.
The Bananas are full of goodness such as Vitamin B6, Vitamin C and Potassium aswell as being great for digestion
Dates are a great source of energy, sugar and fibre
Organic peanut butter (Sugar, salt and palm oil free) is a great source of protein, Fibre, potassium which can lower your risk of high blood pressure and Magnesium which helps fortify your bones.
Maca is rich in Vitamin B, C and E and is widely used to promote sexual function in both men and women.
Almond milk contains Calcium, Iron and many vitamins aswell as helping to keep your bones, heart and muscles strong and healthy.
